Meet our Members - Donna
We won't ask you your age but how long have you been a Melbourne supporter?
Apparently since the day I was born, however I had an affair with another team in my teens. How did you become a Melbourne supporter? I came back to Melbourne thanks to my son, who reignited my passion for football and the Demons. How long have you been in the cheer squad? And what made you decide to join? My eldest was given a Melbourne membership for his 5th birthday, I took him to a game and let him choose where to sit. He picked the cheer squad, because what 5 year old doesn’t want to wave flags or do the floggers. We were welcomed so warmly by so many people that we sat in the cheer squad for the rest of the season. The following year all 3 kids, hubby and myself became active and loud members of the cheer squad. Favourite current player? Kozzy Favourite Melbourne player ever? Bernie Vince Favourite game? ANZAC Eve is my favourite game every year, But winning in Adelaide in 2016 was a night I will never forget. Greatest player you ever saw? This can be from any club. So many amazing players over the years to hard to pick. Highest point in your footballing career Standing on the MCG doing the banner at a Grand Final (during my affair with another club). Lowest point in your footballing career Being a proud Melbourne supporter when we couldn’t buy a win and I was copping crap from everyone else in my life! Any football superstitions? I aim to lose my voice at every game. If I do, it means we won or the umpiring was really bad. Craziest thing you've ever done for the Dees. I could pick so many different things, like travelling to all games but 2 one year. However if you ask others, I think they would say I am crazy as I rock red and blue hair every day of the year! |
