Gold Coast
Metricon Stadium
AFL matches have been played on the Gold Coast since the Brisbane Bears were granted a licence in 1986. After 1992, when the Bears moved to the GABBA permanently, it wasn't until 2006 when Melbourne and Hawthorne took one game and then North Melbourne took three games a year in 2007 and 2008. Carlton, St. Kilda and Richmond took one game up in 2009.
In 2010, the Gold Coast Suns were granted a licence and used Metricon Stadium as their home ground. In 2020, 42 games in total were played at the ground due to most of the teams relocating to Queensland as a result of the COVID19 pandemic. Melbourne will play Gold Coast in round 19 in 2021 Getting there
