We won't ask you your age but how long have you been a Melbourne supporter?
All my life - 61 years How did you become a Melbourne supporter? My Dad barracked for them and I think he made me do the same. I don't actually remember but I have always barracked for the Demons. How long have you been in the cheer squad? And what made you decide to join? About 7 years. I just wanted to be more involved in supporting the Club and sit with like-minded Melbourne supporting crazies! Favourite current player? Max Gawn - us big blokes have to stick together! Favourite Melbourne player ever? Robbie Flower. Garry Lyon is a very close second! Favourite game? Other than the 2021 Grand Final, the 2018 Melbourne Vs Hawthorn Semi-Final win. Have witnessed so many smashings by Hawthorn in the past - it was just awesome! Greatest player ever? This can be from any club. This can be from any club. Wayne Carey - could turn a game around in 1 quarter. Highest point in your footballing career I was in Richmonds recruiting zone and getting a letter from them when I was 15 to come and train with their 'Scholarship Squad' & Under 19's. Lowest point in your footballing career Winning every game with East Malvern Under 15's and then losing the Grand Final. Still hurts! Any football superstitions? That when we win the toss at the MCG we kick to the City End first, so that the demons kick to the Cheer Squad end in the last quarter! And saying 'Chewy on your boot' when the opposition is kicking for goal! Craziest thing you've ever done for the Dees. Supported them, argued for them, justified their player & coach choices, been in minor skirmishes for them no matter how good or bad we've been since 1964! But the number one craziest thing I've done is made my kids barrack for them - they hated going to AFL dress up days at school in the 2000's wearing their MFC jumpers and getting laughed at! |
