We won't ask you your age but how long have you been a Melbourne supporter?
When I was born, my Gran brought in a red and blue teddy for me. 45 years later I still have Ronnie and proudly cuddled him while watching the 2021 Grand Final. How did you become a Melbourne supporter? It’s a family tradition! My entire family barrack for the Dees starting with my grandparents (on Dad’s side), my Mum and Dad, sister and brother. Four nephews, aunty and cousins. Love that I can share my footy passion with my family (and extended family in the stands). How long have you been in the cheer squad? And what made you decide to join? In the early days, we would sit behind the cheer squad on the wing next to the race. I can’t remember exactly when I joined the Demon Army but I joined so I would have some friendly people to sit with mainly for away games when my family don’t attend. Favourite current player? I do struggle to have a favourite player cos I love them all but being Charlie Spargo’s silver level player co-sponsor, I have to say him 😊. Favourite Melbourne player ever? My favourite player of all time would have to be Shane Woewodin (and he wore #22 which is my favourite number) and Nathan Jones! Favourite game? Hard to go past the 2021 Grand Final but still hurts we couldn’t be there! Greatest player ever? This can be from any club. I can’t say just one player really. I really enjoy watching games that showcase the awesome talent we have across the AFL as a whole. Highest point in your footballing career Loved the winning finals we played in in 2018 at the G!! What awesome atmosphere! Any football superstitions? I used to wear a red bra and blue undies until the bra fell apart! I do have to wear Melbourne gear on games days and dress as though I’m going to the game (even if I’m watching on TV) Craziest thing you've ever done for the Dees. OMG LOVE THIS QUESTION and where do I start!! Have to say the craziest thing would be travelling to Perth and back one 1 DAY for the 2018 Prelim Final!! Was asked to assist the club by filming fans on the plane ride over to Perth with the pilot playing the theme song over the speakers for everyone to sing. (It was a much quieter flight home). |
