Meet our Members - Noeline
We won't ask you your age but how long have you been a Melbourne supporter?
I have only been a Member for 6 years. How did you become a Melbourne supporter? I watched the 1956 Grand final and when Melbourne won, I started barracking for them. I became a Member in 2019 when my two daughters bought me a reserved seat membership after my husband passed away very suddenly that year. How long have you been in the cheer squad? And what made you decide to join? I have been in the Cheer Squad/Demon Army for 6 years and joined when I became a Member. I love their passion, like mine. Favourite current player? Bayley Fritsch Favourite Melbourne player ever? Robert Flower/Rodney Grinter Favourite game? 2021 Grand Final Greatest player ever? This can be from any club. Jimmy Stynes (It had to be a Demon player). Highest point in your footballing career Watching the Demons win the 1964 & 2021 Grand finals. Also, my Dad was the Timekeeper for the Rochester Tigers. They had a Sportsman Night at the Club and the Guest speakers were Ron Barrassi, Hassa Mann & Noel McMahon 💙 ❤️ Lowest point in your footballing career When Jimmy Stynes passed away in 2012 and when Troy Broadbridge drowned in 2004. Any football superstitions? Yes, when I wear plain socks to the footy instead of my Demon socks. Craziest thing you've ever done for the Dees. I talked to Clayton Oliver and another player (not sure of his name) outside the Nagambie Op shop in 2021 in the main street of Nagambie. I was so excited I couldn't get two words together except when he asked me about being a member, I said 'Yes'. !!!! |
