We won't ask you your age but how long have you been a Melbourne supporter?
I have been a Demon supporter for 35+ years. How did you become a Melbourne supporter? I became a Demon supporter basically from watching Darren Bennett and Allen Jakovich kicking goals! How long have you been in the cheer squad and what made you join? I think I've been in the cheer squad for about 10 years. I joined up so I could sit with friends that were already a part of The Demon Army. After my first experience, I couldn't imagine sitting anywhere else at a Demons game. Win or lose the environment is always great. I haven't got to as many games as I'd like this season but I always sing along to the cheer squad songs from the couch on my farm. Favourite current player? My favourite current player, can't go past our captain, Max Gawn! He is just an amazing human. I can not fault him in anyway. Favourite Melbourne player ever? My all time favourite player, well I have 2 of those. I can't choose between Stephen Tingay and Nathan Jones. Both played an exciting game that made me proud to wear the red and blue. Favourite game? I have a love-hate relationship with my favourite game. It's hard to go past the 2021 grand final. But it breaks my heart that I couldn't be at the game. Covid really sucked the bliss out of the win but what a game! Greatest player ever? This can be from any club. I have seen a lot of superstars play the game in the past but I don't think I can honestly name anyone other than Max Gawn. I don't think his greatness will truly be noted until he retires and we remember all the things he does each and every game. Highest point in your footballing career The highest point in my personal career I think is just that i got to play side by side with my Dad. My Grandfather, Father and my son have all played for the same football club as I did. Lowest point in your footballing career The lowest point in my own football career I think was never playing in a single final. Any football superstitions? I don't really believe in superstitions. But I did like to play with my socks pulled up! Craziest thing you've ever done for the Dees. Craziest thing I've done for the Dees is probably put Dustin Martin off his kick causing him to miss a easy set shot with a deliberately lame bit of banter... I yelled as loud as I could "KICK IT TO ME FEATHER DUSTER!" I was sitting behind the points. He missed his shot. Smiled and pointed at me. |
