Santa Teresa - The MCG of the Desert

In July 2022, The Demon Army were lucky enough to be invited out to Ltyentye Apurte, also known as Santa Teresa. Santa Teresa is 85km south east of Alice Springs and is home to the "MCG of the Desert". Check out this video if you don't know the back story.

We were asked to make a banner for an exhibition match being played on the oval and joined other MFC representatives in celebrating the club's first opportunity to see the ground since the grass was put down.

This was one of the greatest things we've been involved in as MFC volunteers and we can't wait to head back out there again soon. We might hire a slightly more suitable vehicle next time though. A white Kia Carnivale on mostly unsealed roads was an experience in itself!
